888’s Mr Green casino brand is set to move into new territory in 2023 following their successful application for the relevant license to operate in Germany. This is a rare bit of good news for the organization and comes after William Hill Group, which is also owned by 888, was hit with a massive $15.5 million bill as part of a punishment that was given to the group due to issues relating to social responsibility and anti-money laundering failures.

The breaches also related to Mr Green’s operation in the UK, but it should be noted that this hasn’t lessened the very obvious presence of William Hill in the sports betting and casino marketplace, with the brand having over 1300 premises in the region.

It is important to note that these sums relate to operations under previous management, as noted by 888 in their official statement;

“The settlement relates to the period when William Hill was under the previous ownership and management,” 

“After William Hill was acquired, the company quickly addressed the identified issues with the implementation of a rigorous action plan.”

The move to Germany represents a new opportunity for the group, and it’s a move that excites 888’s vice-president Amit Berkovich, who stated;
